Moffitt, Harold E.

(July 5, 1927 - January 17, 2010)

(Flag Emblem) Harold E. Moffitt, age 82 of Beloit, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at BeloitMemorialHospital with his loving wife and family by his side.

He was born July 5, 1927in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Mabel Moffitt. He married Carolyn Ray on September 27, 1980 in S. Beloit, Ill.

He worked at Warner Electric Brake for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 1989. He was in the Navy April 9, 1945 to Aug. 7, 1946. He worked at Freeman Shoe factory May 1944 to Feb. 1945.

He was a member of the Orfordville Legion Post 209, and of Warner Brake 25 Year Club.

He loved to travel and he did a lot of furniture refinishing, taking care of the lawn and fixing up the house, and was very, very professional in everything he did. He was very good at showing the kids and grandkids how to fix things right.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn of Beloit,

A sister Barbara (Ronald) Henderson of Roscoe. Ill. Two brothers, Norman (Shirley) Moffitt of Safford, AZ, George (DeLora) Moffitt of New Lisbon, WI.

A son, Bruce Moffitt of Monroe, Wisc.

Three stepsons: Eugene (Joy) Shoemaker of Orfordville, WI.,

Gary (Diane) Shoemaker of Brodhead, WI, and Jaymie (Vicki) Shoemaker of Bagley, WI.

Two step daughters: Mary (Steve) Meier of Monroe, WI. And Cindy (Steve) Kindell of Roscoe, IL, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steven Moffitt and a stepson Dennis Shoemaker.

Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Funeral Home. Time 12:00 noon. Mr. Lance Bifulk will officiate.

The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
