Coleman, Maudye Jane

(March 11, 1937 - October 31, 2009)

Maudye Jane Coleman, 72, of Beloit, died on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Beloit Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 11, 1937 in Lexington, Kentucky, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Ivy Lee (Payton) Abbott.

She was a graduate of New Castle Memorial High School of New Castle, Kentucky.

She graduated from the University of Kentucky-Louisville. She also attended Blackhawk Technical College.

In September 1953 she was joined in marriage to Ralph Coleman in New Castle, Kentucky, Kentucky.

Mrs. Coleman worked at Beloit Health and Rehab as a nursing assistant, as a nurse and as the Director of Environmental Services until her retirement in October 2008.

Her hobby and interests included fishing and spending time with her grandchildren: Deano, Robin, Stacy and Sydney Taylor and her grandson Anthony, who lived with her his entire life. Her son Gary Coleman also lived with her. Including her foster sons Corey Bridges and Chip Hummell.

Mrs. Coleman loved her job and offered a helping hand to anyone and everyone and would see to it they were on their feet once again.

She is survived by her children:

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph Coleman, daughter Carol Jean Coleman and grandson Mikey Coleman,   brothers-in-law Vernon Coleman, Glenn Coleman, Billy Coleman, Marvin Coleman.

Her sister Viola Payton.
