Dundas, Philip B

(December 7, 1922 - August 30, 2008)

Philip B. Dundas 85, of Bella Vista, AR formerly of Rockford, IL died Saturday August 30, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born December 7, 1922 in Northbridge, Massachusetts the son of James J. & Anne (Blair) Dundas. He married the former Madolyn "Peggy" Bassett on September 6, 1947 in Whitinsville, MA. Phil served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked as an educator in private schools for over forty years in Kansas City, MO, Tulsa, OK. Form 1971 until 1981 Phil served as the Headmaster of Keith School in Rockford, IL. He was a dedicated teacher and coach. Phil had been a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista for over 20 years, having served on the Church Council a number of times. Phil is survived by two sons: Philip B. (Jee Hye) Dundas Jr. of the United Arab Emirates and Wesley J. (Dionne) Dundas of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren: P. Blair Dundas and Chapman (Debbie) Dundas all of California, Jarron (Joi) Dundas of Davis Junction, IL, Dawn Dundas and James Dundas both of Rockford, IL; six great grandchildren and a close friend Irene Northrup of Rockford, IL. He was predeceased by his wife: Peg in August of 2003, his parents and an infant brother. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 Thursday October 16, , 2008 at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, AR. Phil will be buried next to his wife and parents at a later time in Whitinsville, MA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to Keith School or the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista.
